The UK operates a two tier system of statutory approvals. The planning process determines what the size, shape and appearance , and the Building Regulations ensure that the construction is safe and fit for purpose. Charles E. Ware & Son will guide you through these Planning and Building Control processes.
Planning Applications.
Whilst the government has somewhat 'simplified' the planning process through the introduction of the 'National Planning Policy Framework', complications and intricacies still exist.
A great deal of care is still required to ensure that the planning environment is carefully researched, and a detailed policy justification is put before the local authority planning department.
Projects in towns, cities and rural areas, particularly those designated as being National Parks or Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty can be as challenging , but not always impossible with the correct guidance.
Approval under the Building Regulations.
This ensures that the building is constructed in accordance with the Approved Building Standards, covering elements such as:
Structural Stability,
Means of Escape, Energy Performance.
